Puzzle-solving with Charjabugs
The first portion of the trial involves puzzle-solving. You will be faced with a 3x3 grid containing three Charjabugs that you need to arrange into a line. Battle Totem Pokémon
Totem Pokémon are unique to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon and cannot be deposited in Pokémon Bank or traded to the original Sun and Moon games. Totem Pokémon are enveloped in a special aura at the start of a battle, boosting one or more of their stats by a fixed number of stages. This aura is the same energy used in Z-Moves, and is the result of Totem Pokémon being bathed in the energy from Ultra Wormholes. Totem Pokémon are often version exclusives, are Shiny-locked, and their sizes cannot be passed down through Pokémon breeding. They can only have a particular ability, and their ability cannot be changed by an Ability Capsule. Totem Pokémon are battled in SOS Battles, which allows them to summon an ally to help.
In the Electric Trial in Ultra Moon, the Totem Pokémon is Togedemaru. This Totem Pokémon can use the exclusive move Zing Zap, a strong Electric-type move that can cause flinching.
