Exploring Kanto: Post-Violet City Destinations

where to go after electric gym violet

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet offer players three different paths to choose from, with three main storylines spread across the open world. After beating the first gym in Scarlet and Violet, players can choose to either start the bug gym or rock titan, then the grass gym, followed by the electric gym. The Levincia Gym is the third gym on the Victory Road pathway and the sixth mission in the golden route. Players will need to locate the gym leader, Iono, three times before they can fight her. Iono uses Electric-type Pokemon, so players should come prepared with Ground-type moves, although they should watch out for her Mismagius, which has no weakness. After beating Iono, players will receive TM048 Volt Switch and will be directed to western Paldea, in Cascarrafa.

Battle Iono at Levincia Gym

The Levincia Gym is the third gym to take on as part of the Victory Road pathway and the sixth mission in the "golden path" walkthrough. This Electric-type Gym can be found just past East Province (Area Two). Gym Leader Iono is a high-energy streamer who uses Electric-type Pokémon.

Before you can face Iono, you must pass the Find Mister Walksabout Test. In this test, you need to locate Director Clavell, aka Mister Walksabout, in a game of hide-and-seek via camera footage. You'll need to do this three times before you can take on Iono. Each time you successfully find Clavell, you'll have to take on a trainer in battle.

Iono's Pokémon are difficult to hit for weakness, so make sure your Pokémon are of a high enough level to deal decent neutral damage. You can Terastallize your Pokémon at the start of the battle. Ground Tera Types are recommended as they give you immunity to Iono's electric attacks. Iono's first Pokémon, Kilowattrel, will likely use the move Tailwind, which doubles the speed of her team for four turns. Instead of trying to outspeed Iono's team, use the first turn of the match to boost your Special Defense.

After defeating Iono, she'll hand over TM048 Volt Switch and tell you that you can now control Level 35 Pokémon easily.

Pick up a Super Potion

After beating the Electric Gym in Violet, you'll face off against the Gym Leader, Iono. She uses a lot of Electric-type Pokémon, including a Mismagius, which she Terastallizes into an Electric-type. After beating her, she’ll reward you with a badge and the TM048 Volt Switch.

Now, if you're following the Victory Road storyline, your next destination is Cascarrafa. But, before you head there, you can pick up a Super Potion. To do this, go southwest along the path. As you come to the bend and start going north, you'll see an item on your right—this is the Super Potion.

After picking up the Super Potion, go northwest until you reach the next Pokemon Trainer. After the battle, make your way to the Pokemon Center in the west, just before the bridge. This will allow you to fast travel later, once you've opened up the path. On the left, by the tree near the Pokemon Center, you can pick up a Psychic Terrain TM.

Now, you can set your destination for the Levincia Gym and head northeast, towards the ruins. Here, you can stop by to get the Toxic Spike TM. Then, go behind the ruins and head north to find another person to battle.

With the Super Potion in hand, you can continue your journey, fully prepared for the challenges that lie ahead in the world of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Collect the Psychic Terrain TM

To collect the Psychic Terrain TM in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players should follow these steps:

First, make your way to the Pokemon Center in the west, which will allow you to fast travel once you have opened up the path. The Pokemon Center is located just before the bridge. This Pokemon Center is near a tree on the riverbank between East Provinces Area One and Area Two of the East Province.

Next, go to the left of the Pokemon Center and look for the large tree. The Psychic Terrain TM can be found as a yellow Pokeball-shaped item under this tree. Once you have obtained the TM, you will be able to craft more copies at any Pokemon Center's TM Machine using the League Points and Pokemon Materials you have collected.

It is worth noting that the Psychic Terrain TM is also available inside the Great Paldea Crater. However, the tree near the Pokemon Center is the recommended location to acquire it.

The Psychic Terrain TM is a powerful tool that can give you an edge in battles. It creates terrain that envelops the field and boosts the power of Psychic-type moves used by affected Pokemon. This move was introduced in Generation VII and has various effects on the gameplay, such as protecting Pokemon on the ground from priority moves and altering the background environment.

Find the Toxic Spike TM

To find the Toxic Spikes TM in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you need to locate TM091. This TM move can be found in four locations across the Paldea region:

Firstly, head to East Province (Area Two) in the southwest of Levincia, where you will find ruins that contain the first TM091. The second location is in the South Province (Area Four) near a group of lakes; you will find the TM move on a small rock. The third location is Glaseado Mountain, and the final place to find TM091 is in Tagtree Thicket, where you will find it under a small tree in the grass. TM091 appears as a yellow Pokeball-shaped item in the Overworld.

Once you have obtained at least one copy of TM091, you will unlock the recipe to craft more at any Pokemon Center's TM Machine. The recipe for TM091 requires x3 Pineco Husk and x3 Mareanie Spike.

Battle the Rock Titan

In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the Rock-type Titan is Klawf, also known as the Stony Cliff Titan. It can be found in South Province Area Three. Players need to head west from Artazon and into the mountains. Before reaching the Lighthouse, players can turn right and find Klawf scaling the side of the mountain. Despite its crab-like appearance, Klawf is not a Water-type Pokémon, but a Rock-type. Therefore, players should use Pokémon that can hit rock's weaknesses: Grass, Water, Fighting, Ground, and Steel.

Klawf has an impressive physical attack and defence stat, both backed up by a potent ability called Anger Shell. Anger Shell causes Klawf to gain a boost to its Attack, Special Attack, and Speed when reduced to below 50% HP. Using the previous Titan, Bombirdier, against Klawf may be a good option as it can resist Flying and deal heavy damage with Rock Tomb.

It is recommended that players tackle the Titans in an order that creates a steadily rising level of difficulty. As the Stony Cliff Titan has the lowest level out of all five Titans, it is a good idea to battle it early on. However, players should not underestimate this Titan, as its abilities and stats can make it a challenging opponent.

After defeating Klawf, players can encounter it again in the same area as a normal-sized Pokémon. It will be the largest possible size for its species and will have the Titan Mark, allowing it to be titled "the Former Titan".
