Honda's 2025 Prologue
The 2025 Prologue will feature a more powerful front-mounted electric motor, with a total output of 220 hp for front-wheel-drive models and 300 hp for all-wheel-drive models. The all-wheel-drive version sacrifices some range for peppier acceleration. The single-motor front-wheel-drive model has an EPA-estimated 308-mile driving range, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive version is rated at 294 miles. The Prologue's range estimates have gone up from the 2024 model, which had a max range of 308 miles and a standard range of 296 miles.
The 2025 Prologue will have a starting price of $48,850 and will go up to $59,350 depending on the trim and options. The base model comes with heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and wireless smartphone charging. The Touring model adds leather upholstery, a 12-speaker Bose stereo, and memory seat settings.
The Prologue comes with an 85.0-kWh battery pack sourced from General Motors and is eligible for a $7,500 federal tax credit. The Honda e is a beautifully designed, compact hatchback with a rear-mounted electric motor producing either 134 or 152 horsepower. It was first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019 and went on sale in Europe and Japan. The Honda e's range is uncompetitive for the North American market, with a range of 124-137 miles on the WLTP combined cycle.
The Honda e offers perfect 50/50 front-to-rear weight distribution and a low centre of gravity. The car can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 8.3 seconds and offers a 'Sport Mode' to sharpen acceleration response. The interior features stylish cloth seats, real wood trim, and a lot of screen space. The instrument panel extends the full width of the interior and consists of five screens, including one dedicated instrument display in front of the driver and two large infotainment touchscreen displays. The dual infotainment displays can independently run separate applications and are swappable; they support both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The car is also equipped with the Honda Personal Assistant, which uses machine learning to train its voice recognition.
Despite its compact size being suitable for certain markets such as Europe, the Honda e sold approximately 12,500 units globally over three years. This was due to its high base price, limited electric range, and impractical interior ergonomics. In late 2023, Honda announced it would cease production of the Honda e in January 2024, with no plans for a second-generation model.

The Honda Clarity is a nameplate used by Honda on alternative fuel vehicles. It was initially used only on hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicles such as the 2008 Honda FCX Clarity, but in 2017 the nameplate was expanded to include the battery-electric Honda Clarity Electric and the plug-in hybrid electric Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid, in addition to the next generation Honda Clarity Fuel Cell.
The FCX Clarity is about 100 mm (4 in) shorter than a 2008 Honda Accord. The display in the dashboard includes a dot that changes colour and size as hydrogen consumption grows, to make it easier for the driver to monitor their driving efficiency. A separate display shows the battery power level, and another shows motor output. A speedometer is placed above the cockpit display to make it easy for the driver to keep their eyes on the road. The upholstery on the seats and door linings are made with Honda's plant-derived Bio-Fabric. The FCX Clarity was produced in Japan at a dedicated fuel-cell-vehicle assembly line in the Honda Automobile New Model Center (Takanezawa-machi, Shioya-gun, Tochigi Prefecture). The fuel cell stack itself is produced at Honda Engineering Co., Ltd. (Haga-machi, Haga-gun, Tochigi Prefecture).
In July 2014, Honda announced the FCX Clarity would be discontinued and replaced by a new and higher-volume hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle to be introduced. It is reported that in 2009, hydrogen made from natural gas cost about $5 to $10 per kilogram in California, and after compression cost and transportation cost, retailed for $12 to $14 per kilogram. Although it was more than double the equivalent amount of gasoline during the summer of 2009, fuel-cell cars have double the efficiency of similar models with a gasoline engine. The FCX Clarity averaged 100 km (60 mi) per kilogram of hydrogen.
The 2021 Honda Clarity Fuel Cell features an 8-inch Display Audio touchscreen and a 540-watt, 12-speaker premium audio system. The Honda Clarity Fuel Cell is designed around the driver, from the one-touch electronic gear selector to the performance-boosting Sport mode. The heated side mirrors give a clearer view of what's around you on chilly mornings. The ultra-thin, full LED headlights are a sleek nod to the innovation of the Honda Clarity Fuel Cell. The rear taillights have been outfitted with high-intensity red LED lights for an unforgettable visual signature.
Clarity production ended in August 2021, with US leases for the fuel cell variant continuing through to 2022. The Honda FCX Clarity was the first hydrogen fuel cell vehicle available to retail customers. Production began in June 2008, with leasing in the U.S.
